Dr. DIVYENDU SEN
Lecturer (PGT) at Mahatma Gandhi Govt Shool Pachpahar
Rajasthan (Jhalawar)
National Teacher Awardee (2026)
Serving as a Biology Lecturer at Mahatma Gandhi Government School (English Medium), Pachpahar, District Jhalawar, Rajasthan. I hold a Ph.D. in Botany from the University of Kota, with research focused on the flora of Gagron Fort and its surroundings, particularly in relation to ecotourism.
In 2020, I initiated student participation in the American Space agency NASA- and International Asteroid Search Collaboration (IASC), Asteroid Search Campaign mentoring rural students in authentic astronomical research. Under my mentorship, student teams contributed to 12 Main-Belt asteroid's International discoveries, with four subsequently receiving official designations and numbers from the Minor Planet Center (MPC).
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student, irrespective of geographical location or socioeconomic background, deserves access to quality education and meaningful learning opportunities. I strive to nurture scientific temper, critical thinking, creativity, curiosity, and problem-solving skills through experiential, inquiry-based, and student-centred learning.
I believe that science should not remain confined to textbooks but should connect with students' everyday lives and local environments. My approach combines conceptual understanding, storytelling, bilingual pedagogy, practical investigations, and appropriate use of digital technology to make learning engaging and accessible.
Working in a rural government school has strengthened my commitment to bridging the rural-urban educational divide. I continuously seek ways to overcome resource limitations and create opportunities for students to participate in scientific inquiry, develop innovative ideas, and build confidence in their abilities.
My vision is to create an inclusive, research-oriented, and technology-enabled learning environment where students become independent thinkers, responsible environmental citizens, and creative problem-solvers. I aspire to collaborate with fellow educators, share effective teaching practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of science education.
As a member of the Presidential Awardee Teachers Forum, I look forward to learning from experienced educators and contributing to collective efforts that strengthen the quality, accessibility, and impact of education.
