Mrs. D. Kavita

D. Kavita is an accomplished educator, educational technology innovator, and former Principal who dedicated more than 27 years to the Government Education Department of Rajasthan. She served as a Lecturer at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Nimbahera, from 1995 to 2015 and as Principal of Government Higher Secondary School, Marjeevi, until her retirement in 2022.
A pioneer in integrating Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into school education, Mrs. Kavita has consistently championed innovative teaching practices. She developed digital tools for examination result processing, established online platforms for teachers and students, introduced virtual classrooms connecting multiple districts, and promoted the use of mobile technology, multimedia, and digital content to enhance learning. She also played a key role in developing and reviewing educational content for DIKSHA, SMILE, and Shiksha Darshan and served on curriculum and review committees at both the state and national levels, including NCERT.
An internationally recognized educator, she represented Rajasthan in the Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program at Appalachian State University, USA, where she showcased Project-Based Learning initiatives. Her contributions to girls' education and ICT-enabled learning have earned appreciation from national and international organizations.
Mrs. Kavita has received several prestigious honours, including the National ICT Award for School Teachers (2010) and the National Award to Teachers (2011), both presented by the President of India, as well as the Chief Minister's Best Teaching Award (2016) from the Government of Rajasthan.
As the Principal of GHSS Marjeevi, she transformed the school into a consistently Five-Star institution by strengthening digital infrastructure, establishing Atal Tinkering Laboratory, mobilizing community support, and fostering academic excellence. Even after retirement, she continues to mentor educators and create digital learning resources, reflecting her enduring commitment to empowering teachers and enriching students' learning through innovation and technology.
