A Proud Moment for the National Awardee Teachers’ Community
New Delhi | 13 August 2026
It is a matter of pride for the National Awardee Teachers’ community that three National Awardee Teachers — Srinivasa Rao Pokuri, Imran Khan Mewati and Ramesh Prasad Badoni — were invited to contribute their practitioner perspectives during the important DIKSHA 3.0 Proposal Meeting convened by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, at Kartavya Bhawan-2, New Delhi.
The official Ministry of Education gate-pass document for the meeting specifically lists all three participants under the category “National Awardee Teachers,” reflecting the importance given to teachers' voices in deliberations concerning the future of India's national digital learning ecosystem.
The meeting brought together representatives from NCERT, NIOS, IIT Chennai, KVS, NVS, NeGD, DIKSHA PMU and other technical and educational organisations. The official document identifies the programme as the “DIKSHA 3.0 Proposal Meeting”, held in Conference Room 21000-B, Kartavya Bhawan-2, New Delhi, on 13 August 2026.
Bringing the Classroom Voice to National-Level Digital Education
The invitation to National Awardee Teachers is significant because teachers are not merely users of educational technology; they are among the most important stakeholders in determining whether technology actually improves learning.
During the deliberations, the three National Awardee Teachers contributed perspectives emerging from their experience of classrooms, teacher professional development and the practical use of digital platforms.
Imran Khan Mewati highlighted the importance of strengthening assessment mechanisms and UI/UX, with emphasis on making DIKSHA simpler, intuitive and more user-friendly.
Ramesh Prasad Badoni highlighted the need to move beyond counting training hours towards measuring actual learning and professional competency. He drew attention to the duplication of teacher CPD across platforms such as DIKSHA, iGOT and State LMSs, and emphasised the need for integrated learning records, personalised professional-development pathways, meaningful assessment, classroom-formation facilities, accessible digital learning and greater professional value for verified certifications.
Srinivasa Rao Pokuri emphasised content quality, engagement and ease of use, highlighting the need to strengthen the existing digital infrastructure while ensuring that teachers can comfortably discover and use high-quality educational resources.
Recognition Brings Responsibility
A National Teacher Award is not only recognition of work already accomplished. It also creates an opportunity — and responsibility — to continue contributing to the larger educational system.
The participation of National Awardee Teachers in a national-level consultation such as DIKSHA 3.0 demonstrates how the experience of accomplished classroom practitioners can contribute to policy discussions, educational technology, curriculum, assessment, teacher development and system-level innovation.
This should motivate the wider National Awardee Teachers’ community to continue undertaking quality work, classroom innovation, action research, technology integration, documentation of best practices and evidence-based educational initiatives.
Every innovative classroom practice that is properly documented can become a model for another teacher. Every meaningful research study can contribute evidence for better decisions. Every successful experiment can potentially be scaled from a classroom to a school, from a school to a State, and ultimately from a State to the nation.
From Recognition to National Contribution
The presence of National Awardee Teachers in the DIKSHA 3.0 deliberations sends an encouraging message:
The journey of a National Awardee Teacher does not end with receiving the award; the recognition can become the beginning of a larger responsibility to contribute knowledge, experience and innovation to Indian education.
PATF therefore encourages National Awardee Teachers across the country to continue developing and sharing high-quality innovations, research, case studies, digital practices and scalable solutions.
Our collective objective should be to transform individual excellence into institutional improvement and national educational impact.
The DIKSHA 3.0 consultation is one such example of how the experience of teachers can find a place in shaping national initiatives.
Congratulations to our National Awardee Teachers
