Mr. J Prakash Rao
Post Graduate Teacher at PM shri gmsss mayabunder
Andaman & Nicobar (North and Middle Andaman)
National Teacher Awardee (2026)
My vision of education is rooted in the belief that teaching is not merely a profession but a lifelong mission to transform lives. Education, in my understanding, is the strongest instrument for creating social change, building confidence, developing character, and opening opportunities for every child. A teacher has the responsibility not only to impart knowledge but also to understand the individual potential of every learner and create an environment where every child feels valued respected included and inspired
My educational philosophy is based on the principle that every child can learn when provided with the right environment encouragement guidance and opportunity Children come from different social economic cultural and learning backgrounds and therefore education cannot follow a single approach for everyone I believe that the role of a teacher is to identify the strengths needs interests and challenges of each learner and create learning experiences that are meaningful relevant and inclusive
I envision schools as living centres of learning where education extends beyond textbooks classrooms and examinations A school should stimulate curiosity creativity questioning exploration and independent thinking Learning should be connected with the environment and daily experiences of children so that knowledge becomes meaningful and useful in real life This philosophy inspired me to transform school spaces into learning resources through the Building as Learning Aid approach
At Government Primary School Mayabunder I transformed walls corridors staircases and open spaces into interactive learning resources following NCERT guidelines My vision was to demonstrate that the school environment itself can become a teacher When children see concepts around them they naturally become curious and engaged This initiative created a child friendly learning environment and contributed to better attendance increased participation greater interest and improved learning outcomes
I believe that innovation in education does not always require expensive infrastructure or advanced resources True innovation begins with the ability to understand local needs and creatively use available resources With this philosophy I expanded the Building as Learning Aid concept to twenty two Government schools in the Mayabunder Educational Zone Schools such as Government Secondary School Webi Government Primary School Mohanpur 9 Government Primary School Pokhadera Government Primary School Lucknow Government Primary School Karmatang 10 and Government Senior Secondary School Pahalgaon were developed into more lively and engaging learning spaces
My vision is that every Government school particularly schools in remote and rural areas should have the confidence and capacity to provide quality education. I strongly believe that geographical location should never determine the quality of education available to a Child through proper planning and teamwork
